Dairy farming
Dairy farming is all about the cow and her milk production. As N-xt worked in arable farming to provide focus on the health of the soil and experienced an improved quality of the products, we see the same impact in dairy farming. More to the point, we can simply superimpose the processes we described for arable farming and horticulture on dairy farming and a healthy cow (see image).
Growing grass and corn is the semi-finished product for a dairy farmer that produces milk in the milk tank via the cow. The importance of the nutritional values of roughage in dairy farming is nothing new, although funnily enough we do not project this back on ourselves. Therefore a dairy farmer knows down to the last decimal point what goes into and comes out of his cows. During this process N-xt has noticed that quality is crucial to humans and animals. Not all the protein that is in the feed on paper behaves like an organic nutrient in the cow. This also demonstrates that dairy farming needs to focus on the soil. With a properly operating soil we have minerals that end up in the feed organically and in balance. That's where you find cost reductions for dairy farming!
